Celebrating with families affected by HIV in Trichy
Life is always full of celebrations and thanksgiving at Operation Rainbow.
A recent Children’s Day event showcased the wonderful and colourful Rainbow project in collaboration with ‘Iragukal (Feathers Trust)’ at St. Marcellin Community Hall in Trichy.
Staff and students on Immersion from Sacred Heart College Adelaide were the special guests in the assembly. The trip to India for this Marist school is the culmination of a year-long commitment, both to prepare and to raise a significant amount of money to donate to the local community.
This event provided an opportunity to unite the many different cultures and nationalities in attendance at the Children’s Day as the audience was treated superb performances including mimicry, dance and singing.
Dr. Vasuki, the Dean of District Government Hospital for HIV/AIDS department was invited as the guest of honour and she was very much delighted to see the new hope being sown in the lives of so many suffering and discriminated people.
Operation Rainbow will be celebrating World AIDS Day on 1 December and will continue to raise awareness in the community about the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.
Thank you to all for the support and help extended towards the families at Operation Rainbow.
