LaValla Evening study centre provides additional educational and social support to rural children around the Tamil Nadu province of India.
Operation Rainbow, a Marcellin Trust project, was established in 2003 by the Marist Brothers to provide support to families and children affected by HIV. The support, care and educational programs have grown steadily over this time.
The LaValla Evening Study Centre was initially introduced at Operation Rainbow as well as nine other locations, aiming to provide additional opportunities for school children in rural villages to utilize their free time after school and access assistance on their educational endeavours.
LaValla Evening Study Centers were re-opened on the 6th June 2018 after a break. There are now 368 children attending the classes every day in 13 centres, guided by 15 teachers.
This project has benefited many rural children on the periphery to overcome their economic hardships and give them an opportunity at a better life. To learn more about Operation Rainbow or to donate visit: https://bit.ly/2N2ALhW
