Highlighting our partners work with families affected by HIV in Trichy, India on World AIDS Day.
Operation Rainbow, a Marcellin Trust project, was established in 2003 by the Marist Brothers to provide support to families and children affected by HIV. It works with families in their own settings and assists them access resources available within their local communities. In 2018-19 the project will again make an impact in the community with approximately 90 families and specifically 119 children brought together across a range of programs including:
- Children Welfare;
- Education Support;
- Healthcare; and
- Community Building Program.
Operation Rainbow also plays an important part of Australian school immersions which sees groups of staff and student from the Marist network head off on mission to various host Marist communities in the Asia Pacific. Moreover, the staff and volunteers at Operation Rainbow participate in local meetings organised by other NGO’s and institutions as well as general counseling cervices.
