Today, the Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) team has farewelled the outgoing secretary of the AMS board, Mr Michael Sinclair (pictured on right).
Michael—a former student of Champagnat Catholic College Pagewood—has had a long association with the Marist Brothers in Australia and, for the past three years, has served as AMS’s first board secretary.
At a special Assumption Day morning tea on the deck at the Marist Centre Brisbane, AMS Chief Executive Officer, Brother Allen Sherry, thanked Michael for the “great professionalism and dedication” that he has shown in this very significant role.
Br Allen says that AMS has been very fortunate to have a volunteer lawyer who spends several days each month overseeing matters of governance and compliance.
Michael leaves AMS and his Brisbane home to pursue further study in canon law in Canada, and to continue serving the Catholic Church as an episcopal advisor.
