The Province Leader of the Australian Marist Fathers, Father Bob Barber SM, recently announced, “The review and evaluation of MMC [Marist Mission Centre] that commenced during 2015 is now completed and the restructuring process well underway.
“The Marist Mission Centre has drawn up an agreement with the Marist Brothers, and will now operate as the Australian Marist Centre for Overseas Aid (AMCOA) in conjunction with Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS)—the overarching name of the international aid, development and volunteering agencies of the Marist Brothers’ Province of Australia.
“This joint venture with the Marist Brothers will share the costly burden of compliance on all our joint overseas aid projects.”
Chief Executive of AMS, Brother Allen Sherry, says, “The AMS team in Brisbane will manage the reporting and compliance of the Marist Mission Centre development projects, which are called AMCOA projects.
“This collaboration will strengthen our ties with Marist projects across both NGOs in many regions where we both have projects and enable economies for both small NGOs in the demanding areas of project monitoring, evaluation and compliance.”
Brother Allen has also been invited to join the Marist Mission Centre Advisory Board.
