Supporting the redevelopment of St Teresinha Catholic Junior High School
Last Friday Michael Coleman, Timor-Leste Projects Coordinator, visited the St Teresinha Catholic School in Ossu, Timor-Leste to see the progress of the schools renovations. The refurbishment has since been completed and will be ready for the official opening and blessing tomorrow (Tuesday 17.1.17). Br Tony Clark, the in-country Project Coordinator, will represent AMS at the opening.
AMS would like to acknowledge and thank the contribution from its partners Burleigh Heads Catholic Parish, Geelong Viqueque Friendship Schools and German agencies Aid to the Church in Need and Kindermissionswerk for their contribution to the renovation. If not for our partners’ generous support the many years of water damage, which have left the buildings unsound, meant the school faced imminent closure. This would have been a serious setback for a country already struggling to provide education for its young population, 40% of whom are under the age of fourteen.
