Brother Alvaro Sepúlveda – FMSI (Marist International Solidarity Foundation), Child Rights Coordinator visits AMS team.
During the past week, the AMS team has hosted Brother Alvaro Sepulveda from the Rome based Marist International NGO called FMSI. Br Alvaro’s work focuses on child’s rights and protection through offering training, developing protocols across the Marist world and supporting advocacy for children through United Nations mechanisms in Geneva.
Br Alvaro conducted a valuable professional development session for the AMS team on the aspects of his work and introduced the team to the development of FMSI office for the Americas which reaches from Canada to Argentina. As a Chilean, he has been instrumental in working with the team on establishing this strong regional network.
Br Alvaro encouraged the AMS team to continue “to work together with other Marist Solidarity entities as it opens up for all many other new spaces”.
Michael Coleman, AMS Operations & Timor-Leste Projects Coordinator noted “It is important to share idea’s around best practice in providing quality education to young children across the globe. We thank Br. Alvaro for his time and look forward to collaborating with FMSI specifically in the area of child rights and wish him well as he moves onto Sydney.”
