The Marist Centre for Migrants educates Burmese children who have fled Burma to live in Samut Sakhon, Thailand. Their parents are factory workers and the majority of the children cannot attend local schools as the Thai government lists them as ‘undocumented’ and are therefore barred from schools. The Marist Centre teaches the children in line with the Burmese curriculum in the hope that one day they will return home. The centre also supports young adults to equip them with skills that will enhance their integration into Thai society and improve their job prospects. This project will teach these young adults Thai and English languages as well as computing skills.
