Providing Village Physiotherapy in Timor-Leste
Supporting young people with a disability is one of the priority concerns of Australian Marist Solidarity.
In Timor-Leste AMS partners with a local initiative focused in the Baucau District where the Marists have a strong presence. KATILOSA is a small registered East Timorese non-government organisation that provides essential services to young people with a disability by visiting the remote villages on motorbikes to train families in basic physiotherapy techniques. KATILOSA also facilitates an inclusive education program insuring education for many of these children who would be excluded from schooling.
