Operation Rainbow, a Marcellin Trust project, was established in 2003 by the Marist Brothers to provide support to families and children affected by HIV. The support, care and educational programs have grown steadily over this time.
A key program for Operation Rainbow is their monthly group seminar which assist and provide resources for HIV affected children and families. Mainly medically focused, the seminars also touch on wellness and nutrition.
Operation Rainbow’s most recent seminar titled “We are united as one family” was helpful for the parents as well as children to understand about the family life and social difficulties. This seminar also paid its respects to the many families in the neighbouring state of Kerala who have been severely affected by heavy rains which has seen over 43,000 rescues and claimed 216 lives to date (Indian Express, August 21, 2018).
The Operation Rainbow project has seen steady growth in the care and support they have been able to offer and provide the local community year on year largely thanks to the AMS donors and partners. For more information on the project or to donate, visit: https://bit.ly/2OT9wmw
