Once completed, the new school will provide free education to students, who are children of low-paid tea plantation workers.
Excellent progress is being made to develop a secondary school and hostel for girls in Moulovibazar to support the education needs of disadvantaged boys and girls from the so-called ‘tea plantation’ communities in Bangladesh.
We can see from photos just in from our in-country project coordinator, Brother Eugenio Sanz that work is advancing well.
The Marist District of Asia is working in partnership with the Diocese of Sylhet and Marist Solidarity to build and run a secondary school that will provide free education to the children of the very low-paid tea plantation workers and help them to break the cycle of poverty.
