Last week, Mr Anthony Lennon presented a cheque on behalf of the Tony and Gwenyth Lennon Family Foundation to enable five deserving young people (pictured) from Timor-Leste the opportunity to receive tertiary education at the Marist Brothers’ teacher training facility in Timor-Leste—ICFP.
These opportunities are known as ‘The Rex Cambrey Scholarships’ and honour the work of long-serving Marist Brothers Melbourne business manager Mr Rex Cambrey and his affiliation with the family foundation’s business entity, Peet Limited.
Leader of the Marists Brothers’ province of Australia, Brother Peter Carroll, gratefully accepted the cheque on behalf Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS).
Scholarships cover tuition fees, living expenses, travel and educational materials.
Brother Peter says, “The strong partnership with the Lennon Family Foundation and AMS’s offshore work has been marked by generosity over several years”.
He says that the Marist Brothers are deeply grateful for this long-standing relationship to support Marist projects and our partners at ICFP.
