On Tuesday night, Marist College North Shore hosted a gathering of more than sixty Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) supporters to launch the AMS annual Christmas appeal.
Marist Solidarity Executive Director, Br Allen Sherry, Timor-Leste Projects Coordinator, Mr Michael Coleman, and Volunteer Writer, Sr Anne Kelly ibvm met with individual donors, Marist volunteers and supporters from a number of schools in Sydney.
Representatives from Mary Ward International Australia and recent Australian Marist Solidarity partner, Catholic Mission, also attended.
The event was generously hosted by Marist College North Shore Principal, Mr Anthony Duncan and catering was organised by Ms Georgia Moloney and a team of year 11 students. We were very grateful for the support of Mr Peter Sherringham and his team of students for organising the venue, which also made the night such a success.
The highlight of the event was again the showing of a recently released documentary titled ‘LaValla’. The eight-minute documentary was produced by a former student of St Teresa’s College in Noosaville, and tells the story of the lives of young people living with disability and attending the Marists’ LaValla School in Cambodia, which is a project strongly supported by our Australian donors.
Australian Marist Solidarity looks forward to thanking supporters and premiering the documentary in Adelaide on Tuesday, November 24 and in Melbourne on Sunday November 29. Contact us or check out the relevant Facebook event for more information or to RSVP for these events.
